I just read this article for the fourth time. To me it summarizes so perfectly a lot of the things you have taught us over the past year. It really is all about that one moment between you and the patient... and nothing else. All the marketing in the world can not replace or duplicate the effect of that one simple moment (ok... not so simple). Thank you, thank you, thank you. :)

In case we haven't, we need to face the fact that we are not of this planet. We can't be something other than we are. And, I appreciate the gentle reminder that it would be wise for me to continually hone my ability to effectively influence those I care for.
Thanks for the reminder.

Dear Frank, Best holiday wishes to you and your family. Thank you for your words of inspiration each time in e-ditorials. I always enjoy reading what you have to remind us of, that which is our very essence and can be buffed and refined into excellence. A big hug to you! Kimberly

I had a cat vaccinated while in Iowa. She had a bad reaction to the vaccination. She lost bladder and bowel control. We had to put my beloved, Stinkycat, to sleep due to her problems. This is before I knew there might be other things to help her.

Love the analogy of the child in the third world not missing ice cream. I'd like to add that by virtue of our delivery, our interaction with the patient and the "dance" between the DC and the patient, clarity does not often exist. By clarity I mean from which paradigm of healing is the DC delivering (they often are confused here) and the paradigm the patient is expecting. Perception is everything. I recently enjoyed an article written by Epstein and Senzon about Reorganizational healing vs Restorative Therapeutics. Highly recommend it...here's the link.

Totally with you, Cathy! I had the same experience at an outdoor supplies store recently. I was walking in, intent on purchasing a pair of hiking sandals. There were no less than 3 people at the counter and no other customers in the store. I walk back to the shoe area and proceed to hang out there for 5 minutes. My wife asked if I wanted to go get someone to help, but I opted for leaving.

I purchased a pair from another store that night.

Congrats to you Dr. Perron! I just had my biggest month in June. Good businesses will trump crappy economies any day!

Just had my best month ever in practice this past July. Still have alot more work to do but the longer I keep viewing the economy as irrelevent the longer it seems to remain that way.
